About

Transgender women of color started the LGBTQ movement during the Stonewall riots in New York in 1969. Since then, the gay rights movement has gained a lot of support across the United States, bringing equality to the forefront of political and social dialogue. However, transgender people have been consistently left out of that discussion and are still the most discriminated against and marginalized group in society today.

Due to this discrimination, transgender people are more at risk of being homeless. Transgender people make up nearly twice the rate of homelessness than the rest of the population. This documentary takes an intersectional approach to examining those marginalized in society, acknowledging that homelessness and transgender identification are not separate issues, but rather interconnected in the discussion of how our society treats those who are displaced from the norm in our culture
